The Fall 2026 Budget is being finalized now. Here's how you can get community capital reform included.
Community Bond Issuers & Co-operatives
You are already doing this work. These reforms would let you do more of it, faster, by unlocking a much larger pool of retail investment for organizations like yours.
Your three actions:
Write to your local MP using the letter template provided — ask them to champion these reforms with the Minister of Finance
Share the campaign with your investor base and mobilize a minimum of 20 investors to write directly to Minister Champagne
If possible, request a meeting with your MP — our government relations team will prep you fully
The package includes: a briefing on the campaign, a letter template for your MP, investor mobilization email copy, newsletter and social media blurbs, and graphics to share.
Allied organizations & partners
Your voice extends beyond the community capital sector. When allied organizations stand alongside issuers and investors, government can understand the true scale of the movement.
Your three actions:
Write to your local MP using the letter template provided — ask them to champion these reforms with the Minister of Finance
Share the campaign with your networks using the ready-to-use copy and graphics provided
Co-sign the coalition open letter to the Minister of Finance in August
The package includes: a briefing on the campaign, a letter template for your MP, newsletter and social media blurbs, and graphics to share.
Community investors
You already know that community investment works. Help us tell the Minister of Finance that Canadians want the government to support it.
Your one action:
Download your letter, personalize it with your name and address, print it, and mail it directly to Minister Champagne's office:
The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne
Minister of Finance
